Terms of Service
Last updated Spring 2026. Subject to change.
PotsBox is a labor of love — a handcrafted telephone exchange built by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.
We're genuinely thrilled you're part of it. We charge only what we need to cover real costs,
and we rely on outside services that have their own rules and pricing.
Here's what you should know:
- This is not a commercial service. PotsBox exists for the joy of it. Any fees exist only to keep the exchange running.
- We depend on outside services. AI features run on other platforms and services. If, for instance, OpenAI changes pricing or terms on one or more AI models we rely upon, we may have to change ours. We just can't promise stability we don't always even control.
- Uptime is a fantasy. When something needs fixing, we update the live system — because there is no other system. Calls can get dropped mid-conversation. The exchange can restart without warning. Features you relied on yesterday may behave differently today. This is not negligence; it's just the reality of a fast changing world of AI models and a small operation run with love and duct tape. We do our best, and when things break, we try to fix them.
- Rates may change. We'll only adjust prices to survive, there is nothing to profit. But prices can change, and changes take effect immediately. Models are deprecated and new ones released, costs change constantly. Overall, things get better and cheaper both, but change is something you can count on.
- Credits are non-refundable. Once purchased, credits can't be returned. We're a small operation and can't handle requests for refunds. We do offer a .25 cent gift for those who have not yet paid for services and hope this helps you explore!
- Your audio is not stored by us. Calls are processed in real time and subject to their privacy policy. We keep call logs (duration, cost) for billing only.
- These terms can change. We'll update this page if something significant shifts. Continued use means you're okay with whatever's current.
We're genuinely glad you're here. If something breaks, isn't working, or just seems wrong —
write to me at jtayler@me.com. We can't promise a ticketing system or a 48-hour SLA,
but we're real people who care about this thing, and we'll do what we can.
